2. Outdoor activities at your own risk

Bushcraft involves sharp tools, fire, cold, heat, water and changing weather. Anything you do based on this website, you do at your own risk and responsibility. Practise new skills close to home first, supervise children at all times, carry a first aid kit and tell someone where you are going. Stop if something feels unsafe.

3. No legal, medical or professional advice

Rules on fires, camping, knives and collecting wood or plants differ by country, region and landowner and change over time. Where a guide mentions rules, it is a general pointer and not legal advice — check the rules that apply where you are before you go. Health-related content, such as first aid, tick bites or water treatment, is general information and not medical advice; if in doubt, see a doctor, and in an emergency call the local emergency number.

4. Calculators and planners

The interactive tools use simplified models and rules of thumb. Their results are estimates for planning, not guarantees. Always add a safety margin, especially for water, food, fuel, warmth and daylight.

We write and review the content with care and correct mistakes when we learn of them, but we do not guarantee that it is complete, correct or up to date, or that the website is available without interruption.
